Ngāti Manawa has lodged a High Court application, taking action against Ngāi Tuhoe, Ngāti Whakaue, Ngāti Rangitihi, Ngāti Tuwharetoa, Ngāti Raukawa and Central North Island Iwi Holdings Limited (CNIIHL) Board for failing to allocate 176,000 hectares of the Kaingaroa forest as part of the Treaty of Waitangi Central North Island (CNI) iwi treaty
