In addition to the northern Waitangi Tribunal hearings reconvening, the Government has indicated that it is progressing settlement mandating processes with Ngāpuhi (i.e. the largest iwi involved in those claim hearings.) As previously advised, it is peculiar for Tribunal proceedings to be carried out simultaneously to direct Treaty settlement processes
