The Ministry of Social Development has published its internal Gender and Ethnic Pay Gap Action Plan. For Māori the Ministry finds the gap is closing but average wages are 4.5% lower than non-Māori (4% lower when like-for-like jobs are considered). The strategy is essentially to ensure reviews within job bands
