On Wednesday Parliament passed a Parole Act amendment to ensure that the Department of Corrections can monitor 27 sexual offenders deemed at high risk of offending. The entire process of introducing the bill, first reading, second reading, committee consideration, and then a third reading was completed in circa two hours
