This week Statistics NZ (Stats NZ) released the Household Labour Force Survey data for the quarter to 31 March 2025. In this survey Māori unemployment is reported as climbing to 10.5% (was 9.7%), which is approximately double the national unemployment rate of 5.1% (which is unchanged from the last quarter).
