Last month the Labour Party confirmed Tangaere-Manuel will be their candidate for the Ikaroa-Rāwhiti seat (replacing Meka Whaitiri, who is now contesting the seat for Te Pāti Māori). Also last month Te Pāti Māori announced Heather Te-Au Skipworth would stand in the Tukituki electorate – but now she has withdrawn.
